Noblesville Woman’s Chip Idea Nets $1M The flavor will be available at stores where Lay's chips are sold.

A Noblesville woman has won $1 million in a contest to create a new flavor for Lay’s chips. Hailey Green’s entry of "Southern Biscuits and Gravy" took the top prize in the "Do Us a Flavor" competition.

The other finalist flavors were New York Reuben, Kettle Cooked Greektown Gyro, and Way West Coast Truffle Fries. Green will take home either $1 million or one percent of the product’s net sales through July 15, 2016, depending on which total is higher.

The company says Green’s flavor was inspired by her love for eating southern food in her grandmother’s kitchen. The flavor will now be available at stores where Lay’s chips are sold.

Last year’s winning flavor was wasabi ginger.
