Navy to Donate Retiring Aircraft to Crane

Leaders at the Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center say the base will receive a “once-in-a-lifetime token of appreciation” from the United States Navy. The center will host a retirement ceremony next week for an EA-6B Prowler aircraft. Crane leaders say the flight will mark just the second Indiana landing in the plane's history. The May 5 ceremony will also be the first for a Navy plane held in the state.

The event will include a flyover, landing and ceremonial trip through water arches. Crane leaders will also offer remarks at the ceremony.

NSWC Crane says the donation is in recognition of more than 40 years of tactical support to the aircraft.
