Indianapolis-based Ambrose Property Group has started construction on a 298,000-square-foot cold storage facility in the Mount Comfort Logistics Center in Hancock County. Ambrose is under contract to construct Building III for Progressive Logistics, which will use the facility for clients in the food industry.

This project marks Progressive’s second building in the Mount Comfort Logistics Center. The warehousing and logistics provider leased an approximate 506,000-square-foot building last year from Ambrose.

“We are pleased to again be partnering with Ambrose Property Group as we continue to grow our footprint in the Indianapolis market,” said Progressive Logistics President and CEO Doug Hayes. “Once completed, Progressive Logistics facilities will total 1 million square feet of freezer and climate-controlled space…catering to the food industry from raw ingredients to finished goods.”

Progressive says it is investing upwards of $3 million to install necessary equipment in the facility. Ambrose is not sharing its investment.

Progressive currently employs about 50 employees at the other facility in the logistics park. The new warehouse will employ 90-100 personnel once fully operational.
