Military Academy to Remain Open
The Board of Trustees at the Howe Military Academy has decided to keep the school open. The board says “projected enrollment and re-enrollment figures” justify the decision to continue operations. A financial and administrative reform plan, along with a “generous donation by an alumnus” also factored into the decision. The 130-year old school had been facing closure due to declining enrollment and funding.
The trustees made the decision about the school's future during a Monday morning meeting.
In a message on its Facebook page, the school says parents, students, faculty and staff can move ahead with plans for the upcoming academic year.Source: Howe Military Academy Facebook page
