Franklin-based Direct Conveyers LLC has announced plans to relocate to a new facility in the Johnson County city. The company says it will invest $1.8 million into the move and add a small number of employees.
The manufacturer is also looking to pump $300,000 into new equipment at its next 30,000 square-foot facility.
Owner John Van Kooten says "we have been very successful in Franklin and are pleased to continue to grow in this community. We are very grateful to the City of Franklin and Johnson County Development Corp. for the support on this expansion."
Direct Conveyors currently employs 18 and says the new positions will pay an average of $20 per hour. New construction is expected to be complete early next year. The company is seeking tax abatement from the city on the building and the equipment.
