Steuben County-based Triton Metals Products is planning to pump more than $2.3 million into new equipment. The manufacturer also intends to add a small number of workers to the 64 it already employs. June 4, 2014

News Release

HAMILTON, Ind. – Triton Metals Products announced plans to invest $2,316,720 in new equipment at their Hamilton facility. The company also estimated that four jobs will be added to the 64 current employees. Triton Metal Projects and Industrial Steering Products relocated to Hamilton in 2010, from Bryan, Ohio. Triton Metal Products is a fabrication shop, including laser cutting, forming and machining, welding, punching and most recently, powder coating. The company manufactures parts for the heavy truck, medical, military, aerial lift, agriculture, food processing and motor home industries.

The Hamilton Town Council approved a five year tax phase in for the new investment, which is planned to be acquired and installed over the coming months. “Triton has taken a vacant industrial building and has made significant investments in the facility, not to mention the state-of-the-art equipment they are adding every year.” according to Mary Vail, president of the Hamilton Town Council. “The community is fortunate to have them here.” she added.

Industrial Steering Products, (ISP) is a woman owned small business and was founded in August of 1980 when Saginaw Steering Gear, a division of General Motors, divested itself from their pitman arm manufacturing. In the beginning, ISP produced both small and large pitman arms and ball studs for automobiles, material handling equipment, motor homes, and heavy trucks.

Triton was created from a division of Industrial Steering Products. Their largest growth surge began in 2001 when we diversified into the fabrication industry adding laser cutting (both flat and tube), robotic welding, and forming to our machining services. With a complete manufacturing operation they can nearly make anything from steel, aluminum or other steel alloys. Since diversifying in 2001, the operations, experience and know-how have grown dramatically.

“The move to Hamilton has worked out well for Triton Metal Products. We have experienced steady growth over the past several years and Hamilton has been very supportive.” stated John Freudenberger, Plant Manager.
