Major Casino Overpass up For Approval

A project designed to improve access to a northwest Indiana attraction could take a major step forward next week. Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report the regional planning commission is expected to approve a nearly $9.4 million proposal to construct a new overpass and entrance at the Majestic Star Casino in Gary. The project could begin next year.

The Times reports bid letting is slated for October.

NIRPC is set to vote on its 2014-2017 Transportation Improvement Plan next week, which includes the Majestic Star request.
