Former Congressman Lee Hamilton and Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann are scheduled to make an announcement this week regarding what is being called a major Indiana Bicentennial Legacy Project. The announcement will take place Friday morning at the Indiana Statehouse. In 2011, then Governor Mitch Daniels appointed a fifteen member commission to oversee a statewide celebration for the state’s 200th birthday. Numerous events are being planned and legacy projects are being identified in several Hoosier counties.

The celebration will include a Bicentennial Torch Relay that will cover some 2300 miles while passing through all 92 Indiana counties.

Friday's announcement is scheduled for 10:00 a.m.
