The U.S. Transportation Administration has announced more than $273 million in airport safety and infrastructure grants through the Federal Aviation Administration. Airports in 41 states, including Kokomo Municipal Airport in Indiana, received funding for various projects.

“This $273 million federal investment in our nation’s airports will strengthen safety, improve travel, generate jobs, and benefit local communities,” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao.

Kokomo Municipal Airport received more than $2.7 million for runway rehabilitation and runway lighting improvements.

More than $242 million of the funding comes from the Airport Improvement Program and $31 million from the CARES ACT. More information on all the grants can be found here.
