Kelley School Adds Associate Deans

The IU Kelley School of Business Indianapolis, located on the IUPUI campus, has named two new leaders. Philip Powell has been named associate dean of academic programs and Kenneth Carow has been appointed associate dean for faculty and research. Powell previously served as faculty chair of the full time and online MBA programs at the Bloomington campus. He will oversee all Kelley Indianapolis academic programs, career services, marketing and communications, technology and fundraising. Carow, a professor of finance, will oversee faculty research and the process for promotion and tenure. He will also work with the IUPUI Academic Deans Council and focus on outreach within the business community. The addition of new leadership at Kelley Indianapolis comes as Philip Cochran steps down after nine years as the school’s executive associate dean. During Cochran’s tenure, the Evening MBA Program transitioned to an innovative online and in-person hybrid delivery model and has consistently ranked among the country’s top 10 part-time MBA programs, while the Business of Medicine MBA Program graduated its first class of physician MBAs and the Undergraduate Program admitted a record number of students. Cochran will remain on the Kelley Indianapolis faculty as a professor of management.
