Tucker Co. adds pending sales and the number of homes on the market also declined. However, the average sale price year-to-date — $213,339 — rose 8.5 percent.
Last month, 3,802 homes were purchased in central Indiana, compared to 3,807 in June of 2017. Chief Executive Officer Jim Litten says "we’re continuing to see the effects of nationwide low inventory here in central Indiana. Low inventory affects affordability, however we’re optimistic the market will continue to offer homes of all price ranges to buyers while also providing competitive sale prices for sellers."
The company says, on average, homes sold faster and for more money in June than the previous year. The highest average home price continues to be Hamilton County at $325,467.
The statistics come from the Broker Listing Cooperative and include figures for Bartholomew, Boone, Brown, Decatur, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Jennings, Johnson, Madison, Marion, Montgomery, Morgan, Putnam and Shelby counties. You can connect to more about the monthly report by clicking here.
