A Republican caucus has chosen Dean Vonderheide as the new mayor of Jasper. He will fill the remaining year of the term of Terry Seitz, who announced in December he accepted a senior staff position with U.S. Senator-elect Mike Braun.

Vonderheide most recently served as a member of the Jasper Common Council.

Seitz has been Jasper’s mayor since 2012.
