The presentation will include discussion on how relations between the United States and Japan affect the economy in Columbus. EDC President Jason Hester says some 6,000 Bartholomew County residents are employed by companies owned by Japanese interests. He says over two dozen Japan-owned businesses are in the area. "Given the significant importance these employers have within our local and regional economy," Hester said. "We are honored to welcome Consul-General Ito to hear his insights into current US-Japan relations and potential economic opportunities for the future."
