Ivy Tech Earns High-Profile, High-Tech Designation

Ivy Tech Community College is now an Authorized Android Training Center. The new designation opens the door for Ivy Tech Community College students to work toward Android Developer certification as part of its software development program.
The school says the announcement will help fill a work force need. According to a federal occupational demand report, an average of 1,000 software developer jobs are expected to be open annually between 2014-2022.
Vice President for Information Technology Matt Etchison says "the significance of this designation is huge for Ivy Tech Community College. This is another way our information technology programs are staying on the cutting-edge and preparing students for today’s IT industry." Ivy Tech says it is one of the only institutions in the country to gain the designation.
The school will host Android ATC exams onsite for students and developers that have not taken the Ivy Tech courses.
