The Indiana State University Board of Trustees has approved three majors and multiple other development on the Terre Haute campus. The new academic programs are physics, intelligence analysis and cyber security studies. Financing for the fourth and final stage of renovations to the Sycamore Towers complex was also approved.
The Rhoads Residence Hall project, which is set to cost $20.5 million, could be ready for students in August 2018. The complex was built in the 1960s. Mills Hall reopened in 2015, Blumberg Hall reopened last fall and Cromwell Hall is slated to open this fall.
Other action taken by the board includes:
- naming the Margaret L. Boyce Atrium and the Margaret L. Boyce Recital Hall in the Landini Center for Performing and Fine Arts to recognize gifts combining to total more than $1 million to the music program
- new minors in traffic engineering technology, corrections, forensic investigations, law and administration, and law enforcement and evidence.
- details and standards for new accelerated graduate programs
- approval of Caroline Mallory as dean of the College of Health and Human Services and Chris Olsen as dean of the College of Arts and Sciences
- extension of a vendor services agreement with Sodexo through June 30, 2031
The board’s next meeting is scheduled for June 23.
