INnovators: The PERQs of Growth
Two Indianapolis-based entrepreneurs have changed their approach to help businesses increase online and in-store traffic. PERQ is a combination of three companies designed to connect clients with potential customers through games, prizes and special offers. The company says it works with more than 65,000 businesses and is looking to hire engineers, product managers and sales professionals. Founders Scott Hill and Andy Medley took part in the INnovators With Dr. K. segment on a recent edition of Inside INdiana Business Television. The company used to be called CIK Enterprises and originally included TriAuto, BizProps and Trace Communications.
PERQ says it has managed approximately 15,000 sweepstakes and contests and awarded $3.6 million in prizes. The company says it had 2013 revenue of $30 million.
Hill and Medley say one of the biggest challenges they face is convincing customers that people actually win prizes through their games. To address the issue, PERQ's platform includes a live winners feed.
As part of his INnovators “prescription,” Indiana University professor Donald Kuratko told Hill and Medley to focus on keeping the company's customer base loyal and “never believe that you are ahead of the competition.”
