Indianapolis-based nonprofit Camptown says it has a new executive director. Brent Freeman, who worked for the nonprofit as a program director from 2007 to 2009, has been named executive director designate and will assume the executive director role in August.

Camptown says Freeman will spend the intermittent time “getting back up to speed” on its programs and operations.

While at Camptown, the nonprofit says Freeman has worked as a teacher, school leader and district administrator. The nonprofit’s previous director Don Schafer will continue with Camptown part-time as an advisor and working with the kids.

Since 1991, Camptown says it has helped over 40,000 youth in central Indiana.
