Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard has named Jason Dudich chief of staff. He will succeed Ryan Vaughn, who will take over for Allison Melangton as president of the Indiana Sports Corp. October 24, 2014

News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Mayor Greg Ballard today appointed City-County Controller Jason D. Dudich as Chief of Staff, effective October 27, 2014. Dudich will succeed Ryan Vaughn who is leaving the Mayor's Office to become President of the Indiana Sports Corporation.

“Jason has provided tremendous leadership during the last two budget cycles while working on many of our major initiatives,” said Mayor Greg Ballard. “His knowledge of city operations and budgeting will be extremely beneficial in this new role as we continue to accomplish big things to better Indianapolis.”

Dudich has served as Controller for the City of Indianapolis/Marion County since May 2013. Prior to his appointment as Controller, Dudich served as the Associate Commissioner and Chief Financial Officer of the Indiana Commission for Higher Education. He has also previously held many state-level financial roles, including: Director of Strategic Finance for the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA), budget analyst at the State Budget Agency and Senior Budget Analyst with the Illinois Bureau of the Budget.

“I greatly appreciate the Mayor's confidence to take on the role of Chief of Staff and to continue to serve the citizens of Indianapolis and Marion County,” said Dudich. “I will endeavor to promote the great work the Mayor has accomplished in the last 7 years while continuing to champion the vision he has for Indianapolis in the future years. Much has been accomplished by our government, business, and civic leaders; but there is always more that can be done to make Indianapolis a great city. I look forward to working with the Mayor, the City-County Council, and all those vested in the long-term interest of City of Indianapolis in the near future.”

Dudich holds a BS from Indiana University – Bloomington, majoring in Public Affairs and Finance. He also serves on the Indianapolis Public Library Foundation Board.

Matthew Kimmick, Deputy Controller and Budget Director, will serve as Interim Controller until Mayor Ballard appoints a successor to Dudich.
