Indiana Marujun ‘Actively’ Seeking Buyer

A Winchester-based Honda supplier planning to close its doors is putting up the "for sale" sign. In a notice to the state, Indiana Marujun LLC says it plans to cease operations by next November, but is "actively looking for a buyer." The company says the closure will affect more than 730 workers.
IML has a long list of clients, including Honda Manufacturing of Indiana LLC in Greensburg, Honda of America Manufacturing, Honda of Alabama, Marysville Auto Plant, East Liberty Auto Plant, International Parts Supply and Honda de Mexico.
Indiana Marujun located to the Randolph County city more than 15 years ago and is the only U.S. location of Japan-based parent MARUJUN Co. Ltd.
In a statement last month, the company said "our greatest concern is for our associates and their families. We will do all we can to provide help and support to our associates through this transition."
IML workers produce steering hanger beams, hand brakes, hood locks, fuel lids, fuel filler pipes and body parts.
The company says the first round of workers are expected to lose their jobs in January.
