Indiana Coca-Cola Facilities, Territories Changing Owners

A North Carolina-based independent Coca-Cola bottler has announced an agreement to acquire two Indiana plants. Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated (Nasdaq: COKE) says the deal with Coca-Cola Refreshments USA Inc., a subsidiary of The Coca-Cola Co. (NYSE: KO), involves facilities in Indianapolis and Portland.
The company expects to begin wrapping up the plant acquisitions this fall.
A third plant in Cincinnati is also part of the agreement, which includes distribution territories in six Hoosier cities. Those territories are Indianapolis, Bloomington, Terre Haute, South Bend, Fort Wayne, Lafayette and Anderson.
Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated says the announcement is part of a larger effort to expand its territory nationally that was launched more than a year ago. Other markets involved the expansion include parts of Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky and West Virginia.
Terms of the transactions are not being disclosed.
