A business publication's annual ranking of global billionaires includes five Hoosiers. The top spot in Indiana on the Forbes list once again stays in the Bloomington-based Cook Medical Group family. Carl Cook, who became chief executive officer upon the 2011 passing of his father and company co-founder Bill Cook, was 216th overall this year. His $6.5 billion net worth is higher than his mother, Cook Medical co-founder Gayle Cook, who was ranked 240th in 2014 with an estimated net worth of $5.8 billion. The family has been transitioning its wealth to Carl since Bill's death.

Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group Inc. (NYSE: SPG) Chairman Emeritus Herb Simon is now ranked 628th in the world, up from 868th last year. His net worth of $2.9 billion is an increase from last year's mark of $2.05 billion.

Merrillville-based White Lodging Services Corp. Owner Dean White also saw his net worth rise over the last year. He now has an estimated $2.5 billion, compared to $2 billion in 2012. That places him 737th in the world.

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay is estimated to have a personal net worth of $1.8 billion, which is an increase from $1.6 billion the previous year. He fell slightly on the overall ranking, however, to 1105th.
