Indiana Accounting Execs Recognized Nationally

A national list of the biggest names in the accounting industry includes two executives based in Indiana. Indiana CPA Society Chief Executive Officer Gary Bolinger and Bloomington-based Rootworks LLC CEO Darren Root are among this year’s Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting from Accounting Today.

The annual list is comprised of the highest-ranked of 115 total candidates, as voted by the candidates themselves.

Bolinger has led the statewide organization since 1991. He is one of only a handful of executives leading similar groups included on the list. The Indiana CPA Society represents 8,100 professionals statewide.

In addition to 30 years of experience in the industry, Root has also authored three books on thought-leadership. Root previously served as executive editor of CPA Practice Advisor magazine and is a board member for Jasper-based German American Bancorp Inc.

This year’s list also includes well-known elected officials such as President Barack Obama and regulators like Internal Revenue Service Commissioner John Koskinen. You can connect to the full list by clicking here.
