Huntington Breaks Ground on Learning Center

The 7,552-square-foot building expansion will provide office and classroom space. The tenants will include Huntington County Community School Corporation, WorkOne Northeast and Ivy Tech Community College Northeast.
“This groundbreaking is the culmination of a lot of hard work on the part of the learning center development team and a wonderful spirit of collaboration among the numerous stakeholders who have offered both financial and strategic planning support. This demonstrates how a community working together can achieve great things,” Huntington County Chamber of Commerce executive director Steve Kimmel said.
“This learning center will be an exciting and innovative addition to the Huntington community. It is a real partnership of government, education, and private business to provide educational opportunities for high school students and adults to benefit our community. I am truly excited by the potential provided by this unique partnership to create talent pipelines that meet the 21st century needs of employers,” Superintendent Randy Harris said.
Construction is expected to be finished by July 2016.
