Hudson Museum Collection Set For Sale

Nearly 70 classic cars from the former Hostetler’s Hudson Auto Museum in Shipshewana will be up for auction Saturday at the old museum site in LaGrange County. Angola-based Worldwide Auctions, which is handling the sale, says the collection includes vehicles accumulated over 30 years, spanning the "most important Hudson models" from the defunct manufacturer’s existence.
Featured vehicles include:
- 1917 Hudson Shaw Special Single-Seater Racing Car
- 1952 Hudson Hornet 6 "Twin-H Power"
- 1937 Railton Sportsman Drophead Coupe
Principal and auctioneer John Kruse says "this pioneering collection was indeed highly influential in my own life, having contacted Eldon Hostetler as a teenager and been treated to a private tour from him. Our desire is that collectors will embrace this heritage of the Hostetlers’ and the Hudson Motor Car Company, the people associated with it and the many unique and even one-off automobiles produced. We look forward to finding the next custodians for these exceptional vehicles, that the next generation may continue to build on this incomparable legacy."
The auction Is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday and there’s a charge for admission. You can connect to more about the auction by clicking here.
