Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. has reached an agreement with Columbus Regional Health. The system will provide medical services for the school corporation's health clinic, which serves 2,500 patients. June 12, 2014

News Release

COLUMBUS, Ind. – Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation and Columbus Regional Health are pleased to announce a partnership to provide medical services at the school corporation's health clinic.

BCSC opened the employee health clinic in 2011. Effective July 15, 2014, Dr. Brian Kline with Columbus Regional Health Physicians will serve as medical director of the clinic. Kline has been practicing in Columbus for nearly 20 years. The Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation announced the decision, which was made by the BCSC Health Trust, to its employees in early June.

“This partnership aligns with our key values as a health system, namely to serve as a community partner both inside and outside the walls of the hospital. Supporting the health of BCSC employees and their families also supports a healthy community,” said Columbus Regional Health President and CEO Jim Bickel.

Columbus Regional Health has been recognized under the National Committee for Quality Assurance and the Patient-Centered Medical Home program. Under Kline's leadership the clinic will offer this high-quality approach of patient-centered, coordinated care that supports access, communication and patient involvement to all BCSC health plan members. Kline and staff will also introduce additional health and wellness services beyond those already available at the clinic.

“This is an important service to our employees,” said BCSC Superintendent John Quick. “And we've got 2,500 folks under that umbrella. Healthcare is a big expense and anytime we can save our employees, the corporation and the community money in the process that's a good thing. That's just money that can then go back into the classroom.”

Scheduling process will remain the same. The BCSC Health Clinic is located at 1950 Doctors Park Drive, Columbus. The new clinic hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and 7 a.m. to noon Saturdays. Closed from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday for lunch and closed Wednesdays and Sundays.
