Hoosier schools make Princeton Review’s ‘Best Colleges’ list

The Princeton Review has released its list of the “Best 388 Colleges for 2023” and several Indiana schools made the cut. The list was compiled based on results of an 85-question survey completed by more than 160,000 students nationwide.
The overall list of 388 schools is not a ranking, however the schools are ranked in 50 specific lists in seven categories: academics & administration, demographics, extracurriculars, politics, quality of life, social scene, and town life.
The Indiana representatives on the overall list include:
- DePauw University
- Earlham College
- Hanover College
- Indiana University – Bloomington
- Purdue University – West Lafayette
- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
- University of Notre Dame
- Wabash College
The individual list rankings each feature 25 schools. Wabash College received the most rankings in the lists than any other Hoosier school with 16, followed by Rose-Hulman with 13.
“The release of the annual college guide produced by The Princeton Review is always a highlight of the year,” Wabash President Scott Feller said in written remarks. “These rankings are based on how students rate their experiences in classroom and labs, with their professors, their social lives, and their extracurricular activities. That Wabash ranks highly in so many different categories says much about the opportunities available to our students – and, importantly – the level to which our students take advantage of these opportunities.”
Only two Indiana schools topped a list this year.
Rose-Hulman is ranked No. 1 for Best Science Lab Facilities, while the University of Notre Dame is ranked No. 1 on the Little Race/Class Interaction list.
