The Falls of the Ohio Foundation in Clarksville has secured a $500,000 challenge grant. The funding from the James Graham Brown Foundation will support a $5.5 million campaign to redesign and replace exhibits at the Falls of the Ohio State Park Interpretive Center. July 17, 2013

Clarksville, IN –The Falls of the Ohio Foundation announces it has received a $500,000 Challenge Grant from the James Graham Brown Foundation for its Crossroads Campaign for New Exhibits. The grant is a 2-1 challenge and for every $2 The Falls of the Ohio Foundation raises, the James Graham Brown Foundation will match it with $1. The challenge is through the end of November.

The Crossroads Campaign for New Exhibits is a $5.5 million campaign to redesign and replace the permanent exhibits at the Falls of the Ohio State Park Interpretive Center. The exhibit design phase has been completed and the project is now in its final fundraising phase. This project will bring the exhibits in line with contemporary museum practices and standards for the 21st century student, family, and visitor by emphasizing the immersive experience. State-of-the-art, interactive exhibits will chronicle the region’s scientific, cultural, and natural history with these four interpretive themes: An Ancient Sea, A Changing Land, Converging Cultures, and The Falls Today. These new, technologically savvy, immersive exhibits will tell the Falls 400-million year old story in a truly 21st century way.

The Falls of the Ohio State Park Interpretive Center is open from 9 am – 5 pm Monday through Saturday and 1 pm – 5 pm Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for children ages 2-18.
