Grand Opening For LaSalle Apartments

A long-awaited redevelopment of an old hotel is complete. Officials marked the grand opening this week of The LaSalle Apartments in South Bend. Fishers-based RealAmerica Management LLC has spent more than two years transforming the former LaSalle Hotel into 67 apartments.

There is also 8,400 square-feet of retail space on the street level of the nine-story, 1920s-era building. In 2014, RealAmerica took over as developer in late-2014 when the city moved on from the initial selection of Great Lakes Capital Development. The city invested around $1.8 million into the estimated $10 million project.
