Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel will host dozens of college golfers this weekend at the Mid-American Conference Men's Golf Championship. Visit Hamilton County estimates the event will have a $150,000 economic impact. May 1, 2014

CARMEL, Ind. – Men's golf teams from nine Midwestern universities, including Ball State University, will compete for the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Men's Golf Championship, beginning Friday, May 2, at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel, Indiana.

Play begins Friday at 8:30 a.m. with 36 holes of golf. The teams will play 18 holes on both Saturday and Sunday, beginning at 7:50 a.m. each day. The winning team after four rounds of golf automatically gets a spot in the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Regional Championships.

Admission to the golf club is free to spectators all three days of the tournament. Spectator carts are available for a fee.

Men's Golf teams from Kent State University, Toledo University, Ball State University, Akron University, Bowling Green University, Ohio University, Eastern Michigan University, Miami University (Ohio), and Northern Illinois University.

OF NOTE:

-Taylor Pendrith from Kent State University is currently ranked number 33 in the NCAA Men’s Collegiate Individual rankings.

-Kent State University is ranked number 33 as a team in NCAA rankings, almost 100 spots higher than any other school in the MAC tournament. Ball State University is ranked number 130 and Akron is ranked number 136.
