News Release

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (March 2, 2015) – Somaschini S.p.A., headquartered in Trescore Balneario (Bergamo) Italy announces it will double the investment in Somaschini North America LLC, the Group company based in South Bend (Indiana) in 2011 in order to produce gears for the North American heavy duty truck industry.

This investment totaling $16 million will expand capacity beyond 800,000 gears/year starting from 2015.

Another important achievement for Somaschini North America is the ISO TS16949 certification recently awarded, that together with the same certifications awarded to the other Group Companies in previous years allows the consolidation of policies and procedures aimed at ensuring the highest possible level of quality in all the plants of the Group.

“Our Group is confirming through this decision its commitment to the internationalization process started in the last decade, with a particular focus on the North American market,” said Gianfranco Somaschini, CEO of Somaschini S.p.A. “Our long history in the production of high quality gears and our proven technology in high volumes production are growing our reputation worldwide as a reliable supplier, constantly committed to ensure the highest quality standards.”
