Five New County Historians Appointed

The new historians in Pulaski, Delaware, Vigo, LaPorte and Shelby counties will serve three-year terms.
Mary Conner is the new appointee in Pulaski County as she currently serves as a docent at the Pulaski County Historical Society, and also owns a family farm awarded the Hoosier Homestead Award.
New Delaware County Historian Karen Vincent serves as board president of the Delaware County Historical Society and recently retired from Minnetrista in Muncie. She has also served as past president of the Association of Indiana Museums.
Award-winning author Timothy Crumrin is the new Vigo County Historian. He has written or edited more than 35 scholarly publications and won two national awards of merit from the American Association of State and Local History for his Conner Prairie Museum programs.
Former history teacher Bruce Johnson is the new historian in LaPorte County. He taught history to fourth graders for 25 years and serves on the board of directors for the LaPorte County Genealogical Society.
New Shelby County Historian William Aughe is a member of the Grover Center Museum and Historical Society and Shelby County Genealogical Society and most recently worked with the Irvington Historic Landmarks Foundation.
Historians in 21 other Indiana counties were also reappointed to new three-year terms.
