Fishers Company, Major League Baseball Detail Deal

A Launch Fishers-based baseball, softball and golf analytics technology company has signed an agreement with Major League Baseball and USA Baseball. Rapsodo Inc. says it will provide instant pitching and hitting metrics at the organizations’ invitation-only Prospect Development Pipeline events.

The company’s technology measures the velocity, spin efficiency, spin axis, break amount, break location and trajectory of pitches and the exit velocity, spin, trajectory and total distance of a batted ball.

President Batuhan Okur says "we are proud to be a provider for MLB, USA Baseball and the MLB Scouting Bureau in their efforts to identify the best prospects in the country. Rapsodo ball flight data is already used by many MLB teams to evaluate and monitor players; now this same technology is available to evaluate the top amateur players nationwide."

The company was established in 2010 when it developed a personal launch monitor for golfers. It spread into baseball technology last year with the launch of its RAPSODO BASEBALL pitch tracking technology.
