FireKing to Toast New Distribution Center in Home City

Southeast Indiana officials will hold a ribbon cutting Wednesday at the first business to open at Grantline Industrial Park West in New Albany. FireKing International LLC, which has been headquartered in the Floyd County city for 40 years, will celebrate a new, $4 million distribution center. The facility is expected to bring up to 50 jobs to the area within five years.

The company announced the expansion plans in October, citing Indiana’s positive business environment and cooperation between city and state stakeholders. FireKing’s current work force numbers over 450 at operations in Indiana, Illinois and California.

The park received Indiana Site Certified Gold designation from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs in February of 2016. It is located less than three miles from the security and loss protection company’s headquarters.
