Michigan City-based Dwyer Instruments has joined a partnership program from New York-based Thermostat Recycling Corp. to promote the collection and disposal of mercury thermostats.

"Dwyer Instruments is pleased to partner with TRC and share in its goal to keep mercury out of the waste stream in order to protect the environment," said Eric Budny, Special Projects and Environmental Compliance Manager. "This partnership demonstrates our continued commitment to maintaining safe environmental policies."

The program now has 31 manufacturers providing support for collecting and recycling mercury thermostats throughout the country. TRC’s network of over 3,600 collection sites have recovered over 2.5 million thermostats containing 12 tons of mercury.
