DOD Modifies AM General Deal

AM General produces Humvees for the military.

The U.S. Department of Defense has boosted a contract with South Bend-based AM General LLC. The nearly $25 million modification involves 120 Humvees for the Iraqi military.

Workers at the Mishawaka facility are set to complete the work by the end of April. In July, the DOD announced the original deal, a nearly $373 million contract that involves more 2,000 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles and parts for the governments of Afghanistan, Iraq, Kenya, Lebanon, Ukraine and Tunisia. The recent announcement modifies it to include additional Humvees for Iraq.
