Details Coming on Senior PGA Event
Officials are set to discuss the 2015 Senior PGA Championship coming to the Pete Dye Course in French Lick. Governor Mike Pence is set to attend Tuesday's announcement at the French Lick Resort. The Louisville Convention and Visitors Bureau estimated the 2011 event, which was held in that city, boosted the area economy by $25 million. The announcement is set for Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.
The Pete Dye Course at French Lick is part of the state's Pete Dye Golf Trail, which includes seven courses he designed.
The PGA Tour came to Hamilton County in 2012. The organization named last summer's BMW Championship at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel its 2012 Tournament of the Year. More than 143,000 attended that week-long event.
