Daniels was named Tuesday to the Interactive Intelligence Group Inc. (Nasdaq: ININ) Board of Directors. The former governor believes there is a natural connection between his work at Purdue, which he says had the first computer science department in the country, and the board role. Interactive Intelligence Chief Executive Officer Don Brown will be a guest on Inside INdiana Business Television this weekend.
The board also includes the global chief information officer of Whirlpool Corp. (NYSE: WHR) and managing partner of an Indiana private investment company.
Daniels has served as President of Purdue University since 2013. He previously served as Governor of Indiana from 2005-2013.
“Here at Purdue we're one of the world's leading science and technology centers. We had the first computer science department in the country, and so, there's a connection there that I hope again will add something to whatever I can bring to this board,” Daniels said.
Interactive Intelligence is a global provider of collaboration, communications and customer engagement software and cloud services. The company is headquartered in Indianapolis and has more than 2,000 employees worldwide.
