Columbus-based Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) has announced Vice President and Chief Investment Officer Richard Harris will retire next month. The company subsequently named Assistant Treasurer Donald Jackson vice president and treasurer.

COLUMBUS, Ind. – Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) announced that Vice President – Chief Investment Officer Richard Harris will be retiring April 30 and effective May 1, Assistant Treasurer Donald Jackson will assume the role of Vice President and Treasurer.
During his 12 years with the Company, Richard instituted many improvements in Cummins' global treasury function in a number of areas including cash management, pensions, and currency and commodity hedging programs.
“Richard has lived Cummins values during his time with Cummins and been key to many improvements we’ve made in the Finance function,” said Pat Ward, Chief Financial Officer, Cummins Inc. “I owe Richard a huge debt of gratitude for the leadership he has provided during his time with the Company. He has had a significant impact on the lives and careers of many people in his function and he’s provided me great support and advice over the years. He will be missed.”
Jackson joined Cummins in 2013 after 17 years with Compaq/Hewlett-Packard where he held a number of senior financial and treasury positions. Jackson has deep experience in the treasury area and has worked in the U.S. as well as overseas, including three years as Country Controller for Hewlett-Packard Brazil.
“Donald brings tremendous experience to the role and I am confident he will build on Richard’s many accomplishments,” said Ward. “His skillset and his global perspective adds great value to our function and Cummins overall and I am pleased he will serve as our next Treasurer.”
Prior to joining Compaq/Hewlett-Packard, Donald spent five years working at Banco Nacional de Mexico in their Foreign Exchange and Capital Markets group. He has an undergraduate degree in business administration from Texas Christian University and a master’s degree in business administration from Rice University, and is fluent in both English and Spanish and proficient in Portuguese.
Jackson and his family reside in Columbus.
