Mooresville-based Mt. Olive Manufacturing Inc. wants to pump $450,000 into expanding its operations. Plans call for new office, laboratory and storage space, as well as a small number of additional employees. APril 30, 2014

News Release

MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. – Mt. Olive Manufacturing, Inc. announced plans today to expand its operations in Mooresville, creating five new jobs and adding 4,400 square feet to its current facility.

Mt. Olive is a full-service contract manufacturing company that specializes in heat sealing, including in-house tooling design and construction, prototyping, and manufacturing of products such as air mattresses, life vests, and positioning and support devices. The Mooresville Town Council granted a six-year, real property tax abatement for the $450,000 development, which will provide space for six new offices, a laboratory, storage, and restroom facilities, as well as a parking lot expansion to allow for employee growth.

“My home community in Morgan County is a great place to manufacture products,” said Steve Langley, President of Mt. Olive Manufacturing and graduate of Mooresville High School. “We are looking forward to opportunities to continue growing and thriving here.”

Mt. Olive started by manufacturing small components for a local medical company in 1990 near Martinsville. As a result of substantial growth over the next 15 years, Mt. Olive expanded its operations into a facility in Plainfield in 2006 and then into a newly constructed 44,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Mooresville's Flagstaff Business Park in 2009. The new building was designed with many energy saving features and was recognized by American Builders as a “2010 Excellence in Design” award winner.

“It has been very encouraging to witness the steps Mt. Olive has taken over the years to add new machinery and prepare for future progress in Morgan County,” expressed Mooresville Town Council President, Mark Mathis.

MCEDC Executive Director Chelsey Manns added, “From a local economic development perspective, it is so important that we assist our existing Morgan County companies with their expansion efforts in order to ensure increased capital investment and new jobs for our residents.”

Owners Steve and Lisa Langley have also shown their commitment to workforce development through the establishment of a new fund at the Community Foundation of Morgan County. The Langley's will donate $20,000 to benefit the Mooresville High School's technical education programs, and have made an additional donation of $10,000 into a second new fund to provide four $2,500 scholarship awards in 2014 for one male and one female recipient at both Mooresville and Martinsville High Schools.
