ANDERSON, Ind. – The Indianapolis Colts will conduct training camp at Anderson University for the sixth consecutive year this coming summer. Dates for the camp will be announced by the Indianapolis Colts. Tens of thousands of fans attended the 2014 training camp, with opportunities to watch practices at AU's Macholtz Stadium and family activities available through Colts City.
“We are pleased to welcome the Colts back to the campus for their 2015 Training Camp and hope it leads to great success in the season to come,” said Dr. James L. Edwards, president of Anderson University. “This event, like no other, gives Anderson University the opportunity to share a glimpse of our beautiful campus with the thousands who visit Colts Camp, and those who catch televised coverage. We are grateful to so many on our campus and in the community, along with the City of Anderson, who make this outstanding event possible through their hospitality and support.”
“The City is excited to have the Indianapolis Colts back in Anderson for training camp!” said Kevin Smith, mayor of the City of Anderson. “It is a wonderful opportunity for our City and our community to watch the Colts as they begin a new season. We are grateful to Anderson University for its work and partnership in hosting the camp. Hosting the Indianapolis training camp provides a unique opportunity to showcase to local, regional, and national audiences the many attributes that our City and Anderson University have to offer. We are delighted to have the Colts back in Anderson preparing for another great season!”
“During camp we often hear how easy it is to get to Anderson and how many fun things there are to do in the area,” said Tom Bannon, executive director of the Anderson/Madison County
Visitors Bureau. “Colts Camp is the catalyst to get people to town for the first time, and then they often come back and enjoy one of our many attractions during the rest of the year. As a result, Colts Camp has a positive impact on the area 52 weeks a year.”
Anderson University first hosted the Indianapolis Colts training camp in 1984, following the team's move to Indianapolis, and continued to host through 1998. The Colts returned to Anderson and Anderson University in 2010.
During camp, Anderson University will provide ongoing information for fans through the Blue@AU social network on Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.
