A Michigan-based trailer accessory manufacturer is planning a series of layoffs as it looks to close a northeast Indiana facility. In a letter to the state, Cequent Performance Products Inc. says it will start by letting nine workers go in Huntington around the end of August. They intend to lay more off in September and November and ultimately shut down the plant by the end of the year.

In November, Cequent's parent company, TriMas Corp. (Nasdaq: TRS) announced it would move production from a Goshen facility to Mexico.

At the time, they also indicated the plan to consolidate the Huntington warehouse into an existing Michigan operation.
