The first worker center in central Indiana is set to open today in Indianapolis. The Worker Justice Center is designed to help deal with issues including unemployment and immigration. It is also designed to support low-wage, non-union employees secure better wages.

The Indiana AFL-CIO says there are more than 200 such centers throughout the country.

An opening reception is planned for Wednesday evening.
