A group of Carmel High School students reached the finals of the National Economic Challenge. The competition involves testing participants in areas including microeconomics, macroeconomics and current events. The school says two teams from Carmel High School beat more than 10,000 students from throughout the United States to reach the national finals in New York City.

The two teams were coached by Carmel High School economics teacher Michelle Foutz. In the “Adam Smith Division,” the students were Robert Greaser, Kevin Mi, Joe Philleo and Brendan Yap. In the “David Ricardo Division,” the students were Samantha Bleykhman, Pranav Sriram, Allen Zhang and Ruth Zhong.
