Car Dealer Transforming Old Grocery Store

An empty building formerly occupied by a Marsh Supermarkets Inc. store is getting another chance. Our partners at the Daily Journal in Johnson County report Hubler Automotive Group acquired the Greenwood property in December and plans to redevelop it as a used car supercenter.
The publication says the center is expected to employ more than 30 sales, management and detail workers when complete. Renovations are underway and the project could be complete by the end of the spring. It could keep around 300 vehicles.
The building sits on four acres and has been vacant for four years. Hubler has another supercenter for pre-owned vehicles near Carmel. The company sites growth in Greenwood and the size of the lot as reasons for selecting the location.
Its adjoining property now houses a Rural King location, which replaced a K-Mart that was closed as part of a major corporate cutback.
