Weibl has served with the RDC and Burns Harbor Town Council for four years. He succeeds Greg Miller, who resigned in July due to personal obligations.
In a release from the town, Weibl said, "The Redevelopment Commission and Town Council, together with LiveWorkLearnPlay, wholeheartedly believe the potential exists for Burns Harbor to become a thriving small town while remaining authentic and charming. This belief was further solidified after reviewing the market. We are committed to dutifully turning this vision into reality."
The town has also announced other leadership changes, including:
Eric Hull replacing Miller’s at-large position on the Town Council and joining the Sanitation Board
Angie Scott joining the Board of Zoning Appeals and Plan Commission
Weibl being named the new Plan Commission Vice President
The changes are effective until the beginning of the year, when newly-elected officials take office.
