Brackets For Good Expands

Thursday, October 15, 2015 06:12 PM EDT Updated: Friday, October 16, 2015 08:16 AM EDT
Brackets For Good Expands The Humane Society For Hamilton County won the 2015 Indianapolis tournament.

Indianapolis-based Brackets For Good continues to grow. The charitable organization, which helps nonprofits raise money through bracket-style tournaments, is expanding to Ann Arbor, St. Louis and Minneapolis in 2016.

Participating nonprofits compete to out-fundraise their opponents and have a chance to win $10,000 from corporate sponsors. The participating nonprofits keep the donations received during tournament play.

“The Brackets For Good team is excited to bring the only sport for nonprofits to the Ann Arbor area. The Ann Arbor area is known for its competitive nature as well as its generosity when it comes to supporting the community, so fundraising madness is a perfect fit,” Brackets For Good co-founder Matt McIntyre said.

Since Brackets For Good’s kickoff contest in 2012, it has raised more than $1.3 million for local charities. The tournament most recently expanded from Indianapolis to Louisville.
