Black Acre Brewing Co. founders Holly and Justin Miller and Steve Ruby have announced several large projects to meet what they call growing demand. Black Acre says it will roll out a renovation, expansion and several new partnerships over the next year.
The brewery plans to add 12 seats to its current capacity of 48, excluding bar seating, during a renovation to its Irvington dining room. Black Acre also plans on removing the cold room behind the bar, which will allow them to wrap the bar around, double the bar seating, expand taps and provide the patrons up front visibility to the tap list.
The Black Acre Irvington Taproom will also create an all-ages dining area until 8pm, and launch a full menu revamp.
The brewery will also enter into a partnership with Bee Coffee Roasters, selling the product at their new coffee bar that is an additional piece of the renovation.
Black Acre also has plans for a beer garden and the launch of a spirits brand, Wilderland Distillery. Wilderland’s first spirit release will include a dry gin, a barrel-aged gin, a chardonnay barrel-aged rum, and a Beard Tax Russian Imperial Stout barrel-finished bourbon.
The company has also announced the opening of a second Black Acre location in Zionsville. The new taproom will be housed in a former bank built in 1926. The bar and restaurant will occupy 2700 square feet on the first floor of the historic building across from Noah Grant’s Grill House & Oyster.
Finally, the brewery will expand distribution statewide in Kentucky this year, partnering with Dauntless Distribution. Black Acre has also expanded into specialty grocery, select Meijer stores, as well as partnering with Tavour to bring Black Acre beer offerings to 13 western states.
