INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Mayor Greg Ballard today announced the appointment of Jen Pittman as the Mayor's Office Communications Director, effective January 5, 2015.
Pittman joins the Ballard administration with 15 years of communications and public policy experience, including prior operations and communications roles with the City of Indianapolis. She currently serves as Vice President of Programs at Simon Youth Foundation, where she leads public-private partnership development efforts focused on dropout prevention and recovery. Previously at the City, she served as Deputy Director of Indy Parks and Marketing Director in the Mayor's Office. She also has held the position of Communications Director at the Milton and Rose D. Friedman Foundation for Educational Choice as well as Communications Director in the Indiana Secretary of State's Office.
“Jen's extensive communications experience, as well as her leadership roles within City government, makes her a natural fit for this position, and I am certain she will be a positive addition as we strive to advance several key projects this year,” Mayor Ballard said.
Pittman will succeed Marc Lotter, who is leaving the Ballard administration to pursue other opportunities. Lotter has served as Communications Director in Mayor Ballard’s Office since November 2010.
