In addition to finalizing the academic plan for the new College of Health, the board also elected officers for the next two years and heard an admissions report that "bodes well for enrollment."
The new school will have seven degree tracks, as well as 19 clinics, centers or laboratories. The bachelor’s tracks are: counseling psychology, health science, kinesiology, nutrition/dietetics, nursing, speech pathology and audiology, and social work. Ball State will also offer all except health science as a master’s option. It will launch doctoral studies tracks in counseling psychology, kinesiology, nursing, and speech pathology and audiology.
Acting President Terry King says "adopting the academic portfolio brings the new college one step closer to completion. The need for skilled, adaptable health care professionals is only going to continue to grow, and our students will be prepared to meet that demand."
For campus-wide enrollment, officials say a recruitment report suggested "strong fall enrollment potential." This assessment was driven by a year-over-year increase in the number of first-time freshmen applicants who were admitted and confirmed for classes starting in the fall.
The 2016-2017 officers are:
- Chair Rick Hall (serving in a second term)
- Vice Chair Renae Conley
- Secretary Tom Bracken (re-elected)
- Assistant Secretary Matt Momper
