The executive vice president of Indianapolis-based Anthem Inc. (NYSE: ANTM) is retiring within the next few months. Ken Goulet has been with the company for more than a decade and also serves as president of the insurance provider's commercial and specialty business division. May 26, 2015

INDIANAPOLIS – Anthem, Inc. (NYSE: ANTM) today announced that Ken Goulet, Executive Vice President and President, Commercial and Specialty Business Division, will retire from the company later this summer. Mr. Goulet will remain in his current role for the next few months in order to ensure the seamless transition of his responsibilities to his successor, to be named at a later time.

“During his 11 year career at Anthem, Ken has committed his considerable talents to serving our company in a number of progressive general management roles,” said Joseph R. Swedish, President and Chief Executive Officer, Anthem. “In his current position, Ken’s strong work ethic and dedication to our customers have served to drive the success of our Commercial and Specialty Business. Ken has also been an important leader within our Anthem organization and has been widely recognized for his loyalty to our company, his team, and all of our employees. On behalf of the Anthem Board of Directors and our Executive Leadership Team, I would like to thank Ken for his service and wish him and his family our very best as they begin a new chapter in their lives.”

The Company continues to expect net income for full year 2015 to be greater than $9.47 per share, including greater than $0.43 per share of net unfavorable items. Excluding these items, adjusted net income is still expected to be greater than $9.90 per share. This guidance includes no additional net adjustment items beyond those reported in our first quarter 2015 earnings release.
